Interior Design Services FAQs.

How long will my project take?

Every project is different. Once the scope is defined, I’ll provide a detailed timeline that includes design, sourcing, and installation stages. As a guide, smaller projects can take a few weeks, while full-home designs or renovations may run over several months. For larger projects, I suggest that we start the design process at least 3 months before your estimated ‘start on site’ date.

How do you charge for your services?

My fees are based on the project scope and level of involvement required. After our initial consultation, I’ll provide a clear proposal outlining the design fees, procurement fees, and any project management fees where relevant.

Can you work with my existing furniture or pieces?

Absolutely. I love incorporating meaningful or existing pieces into a design - it often adds warmth and personality to the space. During our initial discussions, we’ll review what you’d like to keep and how it can best fit into the new design.

Do you manage trades and suppliers?

Yes. I can coordinate and liaise with contractors, joiners, decorators, and other trades to help the process run smoothly. If you already have trusted professionals, I’m happy to collaborate with them too.

What happens if something doesn’t go to plan?

Even with careful planning, small issues can arise during a renovation. I’ll always communicate openly, outline your options, and work quickly to resolve any challenges. My priority is ensuring the final result meets our shared expectations.

Do I need to be available during the renovation?

Not necessarily. Some clients prefer to be closely involved, while others like to step back. I’ll update you regularly and ensure you’re comfortable with the level of communication and involvement that suits you best.

When do I make payments?

Payments are typically split into stages - for example, an initial deposit to begin design work, progress payments during the project, and a final balance on completion. Full details are provided in your proposal before we begin.

Can you work remotely or on projects outside my area?

Yes, I offer remote design services where suitable, and can travel for projects if required. We’ll discuss logistics and travel costs during our initial consultation.

How do we get started?

The first step is an initial consultation to discuss your project, goals, and style preferences. From there, I’ll prepare a proposal outlining the scope, timeline, and costs. Once approved, we can begin the design process. Please get in touch here!
